  Damtops School Holds Inter-House Fiesta

Damtops International Nursery, Primary and Secondary School held its third Inter-House Sports competition last Thursday at the Morogbo Primary School field in Lagos State.

The proprietress, Mrs. Bunmi Ige, who was represented by the Principal, Damtops International Secondary School, Mr. Ohiochoye Victor Iwere, noted that sports had assumed much importance over time and for the numerous benefits, more people needed to be encouraged to engage in sporting activities.

Chairman of the occasion, Chief V. P Fakeye, said children should not only be seen academically, but should also be seen as physically active. Parents must be there to support and give them all that its takes to make them happy and successful in life.

In the invitation relay race, Adeniyi Goodwill School, Ijanikin, Lagos State came first. Zion Grace Primary School, Morogbo, came second, while Beulah primary school, Igbesa Ogun State came third in the girls' primary school race. In the boys category, Morogbo Primary School first, Adeniyi Goodwill, second, and Zion Grace, third.

In the secondary school category for women, Jubillee College, Okokomaiko Lagos State came first, Agbara Community High School, Agbara,Ogun State second and Adeniyi Goodwill Secondary School, third in the women's category. In the men's race, Jubilee College, Okokomaiko came first, Agbara Community High School, second and Badagry Grammar School, Badagry came third.

In the march past, Ostrich House (Green) came first with 15 points, Eagle House (Purple) came second with 14 points, Peacock House (Pink) came third with 13 points, while Pigeon House (Orange) was last with 11 points.

But Pigeon House emerged overall champion with 259 points. Eagle House came second with 190 points, Peacock House, third with 128 points and Orstrich House took the rear with 98 points. Master Michael Ogunsile, a junior boy from Eagle House also emerged the overall best participant in the competition.
