The grand children of the Hon. Justice Kayode Eso presented the following poems during the recent public presentation of the biography, 'Kayode Eso: The Making of a Judge':

BEAUTY AND POWER

The title of this poem may not seem so clear,

But as you listen surely the answer is there.

Beauty and power are two wonderful things,

When well balanced, immense joy they bring.

Power is rooted in my grandfather's heart,

And beauty in my grandmother has been from the start.

My grandfather's life is a work of art,

And my grandmother's power has played a positive part.

Even when my grandfather huffs and puffs

My grandmother coolly brings it to a full stop

These two great individuals are beauty and power,

And together their seeds shall always flower.

-OLAMIDE ESO (15)

CHEERFUL GIVER

My Grandfather's name is built upon power

Blessings and abundance upon him shall shower

He laid a foundation that will never wither

Grandpa a cheerful giver

He taught us the old fashioned way

"E ki won da da" is what he would say

As you grow grey may God bless you well

To my children your stories I would tell

How wonderful you've been for so many years

Thank you Grandpa for always being there

TRIBUTE TO A WARRIOR

If success could take the shape, of a man,

It would look none other than my grandpapa,

A man of vision who does not relent,

A man of strength with precision and power,

A man whom failure cannot devour,

Whose achievements to list would take all hours,

I dream of being greater and even might

But he'll always be the great delight

The great delight of all our hearts

This "Grand old Knight", of Ijesaland.

-OLADIPO OBAKAYODE ESO (18)
