Jubril Aminu Warns Supporters Against Violence
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Adam-awa central senatorial seat, Professor Jubril Aminu, has advised his supporters not to be drawn into any attempt of using violence to settle scores during the forthcoming general elections.
Addressing party supporters at Garkida,Wuyaku, Tawa and Gombi ward in Gombi Local Government of Adamawa State at the start of his campaign, Aminu advised them to vote massively for all PDP candidates during the election in order to ensure continuous development and the security of the nation. Those who resorted to violence as a means of canvassing for vote he said are enemies of democracy and should be rejected by the electorate as they have nothing meaningful to offer the public. Aminu, who is also the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) said there was need for people to vote for the PDP as the only party that could guarantee the rapid development of the country. He condemned the belief that only the North should rule the country, adding that the time has come to allow other parts of the country to rule for the sake of unity and peaceful co-existence. The senatorial aspirant who also served the nations in various capacities said the nascent democracy can only be sustained by ensuring a free and fair elections that is devoid of rigging by any party. While preaching transparency and fair play in the course of electioneering carrying out campaigns by all the stakeholders, Aminu urged the people to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship in whatever they faced in life. Also contributing at the rally the the PDP aspirant for House of Representative for Gombi/Hong constituency, Mr. Albert Afiwucha, assured the people that if given the mandate, he will will ensure that the constituency enjoyed Federal presence in terms of social amenities. |
