A House of Representative Candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) Abeokuta federal constituency, Ms Bimbo Folashade Soremekun has decried the political assassination of some prominent politicians in the country, describing such development as a threat to the nation's hard earned democracy.

Soremekun who is to represent the Abeokuta North, Ode a a campaign Obafemi/Owode federal constituency in the lower house of the National Assembly called on the Federal Government to urgently provide adequate security and protection for the nations politicians.

While addressing AD supporters as a carnival like campaign rally in Abeokuta recently, she expressed the need for politicians to focus their campaign on issues rather than mundane issues that are capable of breeding disunity.

While urging politicians to be God-fearing, sincere and forthright, Soremekun further counselled them against making promises which they cannot fulfill.

"Our politicians should avoid making promises they cannot fulfill as posterity will judge their conduct in years to come," she said.

According to her, if given the mandate by her people, Soremekun vowed that all the promises she made during her campaign would be carried out to a logical conclusion.

She stressed that on assumption of office as the representative of her people, she would tirelessly initiate, pursue and sponsor progressive bills and legislations that will positively impact on the overall well-being of the people.

While urging voters to turnout enmasses to cast their votes for her and all the AD candidates in the April polls, Soremekun said "I appeal to you eligible voters to come out en-masses and cast your vote for me."

"You must also troop out for the AD candidates in subsequent elections, because this is the only way to reciprocate the good work of the party (AD) in the state," she explained.
