| he 12th Annual THISDAY Awards was a show of glitz and glamour. Nigeria’s crème de la crème gathered together to celebrate the best in society. From the onset, the well guarded invitations were delivered to a select few leaving the rest of the population to wait for printed details and pictures. As usual, no detail was spared in preparation for this glamorous and prestigious event. Everything from the exquisite menu to the Grecian inspired ushers to the elaborate décor was painstakingly contemplated. The red carpet was a continuous succession of A-list guests. The hosts were old favourites. The winners were honored and praised. The speaker, Vicente Fox, praised THISDAY’s innovation, while extending thoughts to keep Nigeria on the path to remaining a player on the world’s stage. The legend, Diana Ross performed and new talent, Lemar, gained a new following. Needless to say, the ceremony was executed in true THISDAY style. |
