THISDAY Awards ‘07

The ushers at the event were beautifully dressed
in outfits designed byLanre Da-Silva. They were
on hand to make sure that all of the guests were
comfortable and well taken care of. They looked
like Greek kings and queens, as their attire was
themed from Greece. They ushered the guests during
the cocktails and all through the red carpet entrance into
the main hall for the event, they were on hand to provide
guests with whatever they needed to make the ceremony
a comfortable and enjoyable one. Their charisma,
pleasantness and prompt attention to the needs of
everyone present contributed to the event’s success.

The venue looked magnificent. Right from the entrance there were banners on both sides of the drive way with the THISDSAY logo. The red carpet had lovely scented flowers on the side walk. It was an amazing sight, quite unlike any award event ever held in Nigeria. It was a bit like the Grammys. Guests were also interviewed about the event on the red carpet and they walked through metal detectors as safety was of utmost priority because of the calibre of the guests. Inside the main hall, was also exotic, as tables and chairs were neatly laid with sparklingly white linen. The sweet smell of flowers filled the hall with decorations in white, red, and black hanging from the top of the walls. The chandelier of candles and lights hanging from the ceiling was specially made for the event and gave the hall a magical ambience. Some lights made everyone in the hall look even lovelier as they were pointed in different positions to ensure that everyone was noticed at the point of entry. They was an array of drinks on the tables and the ushers were on hand to serve guests with drinks. There was also a menu to choose from that included an intercontinental variety of dishes. Everything was on hand to make sure that everyone was satisfied and that the event was a success.
